StarSkate STAR 3+ covers the upper levels of the Skate Canada STAR pathway, from STAR 3 through to Gold. This is where skating can become a serious pursuit — technical demands are high across all four disciplines (free skate, ice dance, artistic skating and skills), and skaters at this level are developing the edge quality, consistency, jump and spin technique, and artistic presentation required to succeed at test days and competitive events.

Skaters progressing through STAR 3 to Gold are working toward individual discipline assessments and full STAR level completions. Many skaters at this level participate in Skate Ontario Provincial Series competitions, interclub events, and performance opportunities throughout the season.

Prerequisite: Completion of the STAR 2 assessment.

Ice time: STAR 3–Gold skaters may register for Monday, Friday, or both. Skating one day per week is strongly discouraged. Two days provides the minimum ice time needed to develop skills at a meaningful pace, and skaters wishing to add a third day may register for the Thursday Open STAR session as an add-on.

Private lessons: Skaters at this level are required to take lessons with a private coach. Private coaching is essential for preparing for Skate Canada tests, competitions, and performance events and is arranged directly between families and coaches. Private lesson fees are separate from club registration.

Skate Canada Fee: In addition to your registration fee, all skaters are required to pay an annual Skate Canada membership fee of $65.70. This fee is collected by Skate Amherstburg at registration and remitted in full to Skate Canada — the club does not retain any portion of it. It covers national membership, sectional registration, Safe Sport, and injury benefit and is charged once per skater per season regardless of how many programs they are enrolled in.
